Pati Emanet

Terms of Use

Version: 2026-10-08.1. The Turkish version prevails if the two differ.

1. What is Pati Emanet?

Pati Emanet is a free, volunteer community platform that connects Atılım University students and staff for pet sitting and pet adoption. It is run by Omar. Contact: patiemanet.app@gmail.com. By creating an account you accept these terms.

2. We only connect people

  • Sitting and adoption arrangements are made directly between users. Pati Emanet is not a party to them.
  • Pati Emanet does not provide pet care, veterinary or transport services. We verify users (university email) but do not guarantee any sitter, owner or adopter.
  • You decide who to agree with: read profiles, rating averages and messages, and use your own judgement.

3. Your account

  • Only allowed Atılım email addresses can sign up. Your details must be accurate.
  • Your account is personal: don't share it or create one for someone else.
  • You can delete your account at any time on the "My account" page.

4. No money, no selling

  • Sitting on Pati Emanet is free. Sitters don't ask for money and owners don't pay; the owner only provides food, litter and supplies.
  • Selling animals is not allowed. Adoption is free; no fee may be asked, whether called "costs", a "deposit" or anything else.
  • Please report anyone who asks for money outside the platform.

5. As a pet owner

  • You give accurate and complete information about your pet's health, vaccinations, temperament and special needs.
  • You provide enough food, litter and supplies, and leave your vet's details and a way to reach you.
  • You are responsible for your pet's health and behaviour (for example damage it causes to people or property).

6. As a sitter

  • You care for the pet carefully and as agreed, and don't hand it to anyone else without asking the owner.
  • In an emergency you tell the owner right away and take the pet to a vet if needed.
  • If you can't do a sit you agreed to, you tell the owner as early as possible.

7. Adoption

  • Describe the animal honestly: age, health, vaccinations, neutering and temperament, as far as you know them.
  • Before listing an animal you found, check whether it has an owner (for example a microchip scan at a vet).
  • The adopter takes on the animal's permanent care. Abandoning animals is illegal under Turkish Animal Protection Law No. 5199.
  • The person who posted the listing decides who adopts and may decline any application.

8. Community rules

  • Be respectful. Harassment, insults, discrimination and threats are not allowed.
  • Fake listings, fake profiles, spam and misleading information are not allowed.
  • Share pet photos in posts and comment on them. Ads, selling animals, insults and inappropriate content are not allowed.
  • Don't share other people's personal details (phone, address, photos) without permission.
  • If something goes wrong, use the "Report" and "Block" buttons.

9. Moderation

We may remove content that breaks these rules and warn, suspend or close accounts. The email address of a suspended account cannot be used to register again, even after the account is deleted. The reported person is never told who reported them. While reviewing a report, and only while it is open, we may read the messages (photos included) between the person who reported and the person reported; every review is logged.

10. Liability

Pati Emanet is offered free, by volunteers, "as is". To the extent permitted by law, Pati Emanet and the person running it are not liable for arrangements between users, for an animal falling ill, getting lost or being harmed, or for damage caused by an animal. The emergency vet list is for information only; details can change, so call the clinic before you go.

11. Changes

We may update these terms. After an important change you will be asked to accept the new version before continuing.

12. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Türkiye. How personal data is processed is explained in the Privacy Notice.
